The Facilities and Equipment Technician at SKC Inc. plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of both our facilities and production equipment. This position requires a versatile skill set to handle a variety of tasks related to general facilities maintenance and production machine maintenance.

General Facilities Maintenance

• Routine Inspections: Regularly inspect building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair any facility-related issues to maintain a safe and functional environment.
• Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative maintenance practices to minimize the risk of equipment breakdowns and extend their operational life.
• Upgrades and Renovations: Assist with facility upgrades and renovations as needed
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and promptly report any significant issues to management.

Production Machine Maintenance

• Equipment Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of production machinery to ensure they are functioning optimally.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production equipment.
• Preventative Programs: Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and enhance equipment longevity.
• Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to quickly address and resolve any equipment-related problems.
• Inventory Management: Keep an inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for machine maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Safety: A strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety protocols.
• Technical Expertise: Proficient in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Preventative Maintenance: Experience in setting up and executing preventative maintenance schedules.
• Communication: Clear and effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and management.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a maintenance role, focusing on both facilities and production machinery.

Physical Requirements/Demands

• Requires vision, speech, and hearing.
• Prolonged periods of standing and performing physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to climb ladders and work safely hat various heights.
• Agility to bend and lift up to 50 pounds from the floor and carry 20 yards.
• Work Environment: Willingness to work in various conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and varying temperatures.
• Mobility:
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
• Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.

It is not exhaustive and other duties may be assigned as needed to support the company’s operations. It is crucial for the candidate to be adaptable and prepared to handle various tasks to maintain the overall efficiency and functionality of both facilities and production equipment.

As a part of the SKC Team, you will also be eligible for up to sixteen (16) days of paid time off (PTO) your first year and every year thereafter consistent with policy. In addition, SKC offers nine (9) paid holidays and one (1) paid floating holiday.
