How You will Make an Impact as a Maddux School Educator

• Maddux teachers nurture a love for learning by teaching children how to develop strong friendships and the skills needed to learn.
• Through individualized and differentiation instruction, Maddux educators maintain high academic standards while addressing social challenges, learning differences and self-esteem concerns.
• Using our unique social learning curriculum, our teachers embed social opportunities and skill development in all activities throughout the day and across core subjects including math, language arts and science as well as in specials such as art, music and STEAM.

The Teacher position is responsible for supervising a class of 12 to 15 students and coordinating instruction with co-teacher and therapists. This position entails lesson development and implementation; classroom management and coordination; partnership and communication with parents; Oversight of academic and social-emotional needs of students and progress monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
• Maryland Standard Professional Certificate or eligibility for Conditional Certificate required for Teacher level position
• School based early childhood/elementary educational or related experience
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability and commitment to collaborate with colleagues and parents
• Flexibility with regard to daily routine and responsibilities
• Support of program mission and philosophy
