Position Title: Riverside Campground Host

Reporting Authority: Position Reports to Athletic Assistant – Rec. Tennis Manager, Superintendent of Programming & Events, or as assigned

Classification: Non Union Position

Salary: $45/day plus camping fees waived

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing the Riverside Campground. This position reports to and takes direction from the Position Reports to Athletic Assistant – Rec. Tennis Manager, Superintendent of Programming & Events, or as assigned.

Specific Responsibilities:

• This position is responsible for checking in guests and ensuring proper paperwork is filled out accordingly.
• This position is responsible for making reservations, collecting fees via credit cards from campers and making routine deposits.
• Campground host must live on campground site between May 1 through November 1

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Illinois driver's license and be insurable under District liability insurance.
• Must be able to read and comprehend relevant policies, operational procedures, safety guidelines or other guidelines of Facility Operations.

• Must be able to perform simple math calculations, long hand and with available calculators or other devices such as computer software (RecTrac/WebTrac).

General Requirements:

• Must be able to read and write and have good command of the English language.
• Good oral and written communication.
• Physical capabilities – lifts 50 pounds, squats, bend and move as necessary for the job.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematics.
• Must have basic proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License.
• Must possess professional phone skills and work well with the public.
• Must present a neat and professional appearance.
• Responsible for following policies and procedures outlined in Springfield Park District employee manual.
• Will live on-site at Riverside Campground during the duration of Campground season.
• Leave notice at Camp Office when you leave.
• Be good role model for campers, keep your site clean.
