Rock Valley Community Programs is Hiring a Program Support Specialist-Vets Near Janesville, WI

Part Time [Every other weekend 1 pm- 9 pm]

Rock Valley Community Programs, Inc. (RVCP) operates a residential re-entry program serving adult male and female clients transitioning from prison back into the community, clients who are serving Alternatives to Revocation (ATR) or other probation/parole violations.

Job summary:

The primary function of a PSS is to ensure the smooth and orderly operation of the center, along with carrying out assigned tasks and duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Security/Safety

· Know location of emergency crisis book and be able to implement crisis procedure.

· Use Walkie-talkies as needed.

· Check schedule and complete fire drills as assigned.

· Monitor security log and ensure all persons who are not residents or staff sign in and out.

· Sign in/ out all visitors of residents including checking if they are approved for visiting and monitor visits to ensure appropriate behavior.

· Maintain working knowledge of security alarm system and use alarm panel per instruction.

· Search resident bags when they are entering and leaving the facility.

· Complete walk-through scans at a minimum of two times per shift and ensure all outside doors are locked at all times.

· Maintain working knowledge of handheld monitor.

· Watch security monitors.

· Assist with facility search.

· Answer doors

· Randomly complete pat down searches on residents when they arrive back at the facility.

Resident Accountability

· Conduct head count every two hours; check on residents that don’t report for headcount.

· Check urinalysis / breathalyzer (UA/BA) schedules daily. Notify in-house state and federal residents of needed UA’s and BA’s.

· Conduct UA’s and BA’s as scheduled, and report to Program Assistant when any supplies are running low.

· Check chores and ensure cleanliness.

· Monitor residents during smoke breaks.

· Monitor sign in/out log to assure accountability of residents.

· Enforce program rules.

· Hold residents accountable.

· Check overdue client report periodically in Securmanage

· Write both Federal and State incident reports as needed.

· Ensure that all Residential Services Department policies, procedures, and client rules are being followed at all times.

· Enforce sanctions.

· Check Resident Sanction/Restriction board by PSS desks and Resident Information boards in PSS office for intakes and exits. Enter pertinent information to each board as needed.

· Complete pass and home confinement calls.

· Ensure residents have schedule in Securmanage before leaving.

· Log residents in and out of the center, including their signature.

· Issue demerits in Resident Phase System when appropriate.

Medications

· Enter resident’s medication into Securmanage when new prescriptions or refills are brought to the facility.

· Monitor resident’s taking medications and record in Securmanage.

Communication

· Answer incoming phone calls, direct calls appropriately, use the page feature when necessary.

· Respond to crisis calls appropriately, per the policy.

· Check daily: e-mail and Shift log and enter pertinent information to each.

· Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other agency employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency / effectiveness.

Financial

· Ensure residents’ monies received by PSS’s are secured in the lock box and then send e-mail to Case Manager and Residential Services Director.

Program

·Complete intakes on all incoming residents to include thumb prints for Federal clients.

· Be aware of process and be able to complete entry preparation for new residents.

· Update resident inventories when new things are brought into the facility.

· Transportation of residents to designated places utilizing agency vehicles as assigned or needed.

· Occasionally an employee may be mandated to work extra hours to ensure adequate staff coverage. A mandate log is maintained so staff names are rotated.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Security/Safety

· Complete walk-through scans at a minimum of two times per shift.

Resident Accountability

· Update Resident Information boards and census list in PSS office.

· Complete police contact reports as required.

· Ensure sign in/out log is updated and accurate.

· Assist residents in providing driving/visitor information.

· Take residents to recreational outings.

· Monitor residents at meals.

Clerical

· File all resident and program materials into the accordion in the PSS offices.

· Clean office areas.

· Fill fax and copy machine paper as needed (report any needed repairs)

· Make copies as needed or assigned.

· Place incoming faxes into the appropriate staff mailbox.

· Stock resident information rack.

· Forward resident mail.

Dietary

· Monitor kitchen when Food Service staff are not working.

· Assist residents, as needed, in food preparation.

· Monitor resident’s while in kitchenettes, including cleanliness and supplies.

Program

· Retrieve abandoned property and complete Abandoned Property Inventories as needed.

· Issue cleaning supplies as needed.

· Turn in all receipts for agency purchases.

· Assist any other residential staff members in the performance of their duties as directed by a supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

· Be knowledgeable and in daily compliance with the Federal Statement of Work (SOW), the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC) and the Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) licensing requirements.

· Be knowledgeable and in compliance of all Residential Services Department Policies and Procedures including but not limited to program rules, security alarm system, and reporting escapes and/or abscondments. Read all Policies and Procedures annually, at a minimum.

· Be knowledgeable in how to write both Federal and DOC incident reports.

· Ability to plan and organize work to achieve program objectives effectively.

· Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports on a timely basis.

· Must have working knowledge of computers, e-mail and client monitoring software, SecurManage.

· Ability to relate to people in an unprejudiced and understanding manner with concern for their circumstances and feelings.

· Ability to secure Federal and State clearance for work with residents and any other required licensing standards.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

· Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

· Successfully complete a pre-employment physical, urine drug-test and TB test.

· Successfully complete required CBRF Training’s.
