Salary: $54,000 - $58,000

Position: Human Resources Manager
Supervisor: Associate Director
Status: Full Time, Non‐Exempt

Summary: The Human Resources Manager assists the Associate Director and Executive Director in the
full range of human resources activities supporting hiring, onboarding, exit, payroll and benefits
administration, and creation of and scheduling for annual training calendar. This position also
centralizes all performance and employment related files, confidentially.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with HR system(s); manage and update system with relevant documents. Develop
    knowledge of HR system and use it to create best services to;
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures
  • Administer requirements of OSHA logs, Worker’s Compensation documentation, Department of
    Labor filings, and other related activities, as needed and on time
  • Maintain and update employee files, including entering and tracking training records in
    database. Perform audits regularly to ensure accuracy
  • Process position status changes
  •  Administer and assist employees with benefit options
  • Assist with hiring process
  • Manage job postings internally/externally
  • Receive resumes/application forms
    o Schedule interviews
    o Complete background and reference checks
  • Participate with onboarding including providing new employees with policies and procedures
  • Compile and prepare routine reports
  • Maintain all performance appraisal and progressive discipline notes in central files. Work with supervisors if support is needed with development or performance management
  • Support Finance department with payroll and other items, as needed
  • Lead Safety Committee in accordance with Workers Compensation Commission
  • Manage volunteer recruitment and tracking
  • Participate in Personnel Committee
  • Be an ambassador for Susan B. Anthony Project. Participate in events, programs and promotions of awareness and advocacy
  • Other duties as assigned, to further support the mission of the agency

Qualifications:

  • Education and experience that may have been gained through relevant training, employment, or volunteer experience (minimum of 3 years)
  • Knowledge and use of human resources databases
  • Knowledge and use of payroll databases for administering payroll
  • Excellent problem solving, communications and follow up skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Platform, and/or other programs
  • Use of positive communications and proactive conflict resolution
  • Ability to work with other agencies, systems, board and volunteers
  • Daily access to a car with a valid CT driver’s license
  • Knowledge of counseling and social services
  • Ability to understand and incorporate the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence into work
  • Able to lift and move 25 pounds
  • Patience and a sense of humor
