SUMMARY
The Electrical Shop Technician performs inspections and maintenance on all equipment, including performing Preventive Maintenance (PM) on all equipment. He or she has experience with electrical wiring, conduit, panel building, and instrumentation. The Technician takes primary instruction from the Shop & Fleet Supervisor and is supportive to the mission that all equipment dispatched from the yard is in good working order and that the work performed on the yard meets objectives. He or she keeps the Shop & Fleet Supervisor (or Operations Manager) informed of equipment that is down for maintenance and the status of his or her current assignment. Status updates include identification of supplies or resources required to complete assigned tasks. The Electrical Shop Technician is responsible for meeting all company policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, and must have an unwavering commitment to environmental, safety and health for all employees and clients.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent industry experience and training for the area of expertise. Industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
The ability to speak, read, and write English is required for this position.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic mathematical skills, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers are required for this position. The ability to add and subtract fractions is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to stand and walk on a field site and shop site and communicate on a telephone or while meeting with others. The Associate frequently is required to sit at a desk, use fingers to operate a computer keyboard, reach for papers or books with hands and arms, climb a ladder or balance on a roof, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to accomplish tasks. The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
