GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

This is a working event supervision, administrative, and maintenance position. Work consists of supervising and overseeing the day to day operation and maintenance of the City's performance venues, with a focus on The Victory Theater and its' sound and light system; Maintaining and coordinating responsibilities for operation of the venue and building during all activities, including live theatre, concerts, and other performing arts. Duties require considerable public contact and partnership management. This position requires seasonal night and weekend work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinates and/or supervises amplification system, lighting, and other facility assets. Responsible for inventory, maintenance, and check out procedures related to the AV, lighting, and other performance equipment.

2. Responsible to see that Victory Theater and Butterfield Stage guidelines are followed and carried out on behalf of the City.

3. Represents the Victory Theater to patrons and the public at the physical location. Explains all procedures, rules, regulations, etc.

4. Informs and supervises routine maintenance on the Victory Theater's heating and cooling system, AV equipment and any other systems or equipment in the facility in coordination with the City Facilities Manager.

5. Participates in the setting up of the Victory Theater for shows, meetings, plays, etc.

6. Prepares and maintains Victory Theater and other facility records, attendance, etc.

7. Assists with inspection of building and facilities, noting and reporting need for maintenance and repairs that cannot be completed by city employees.

8. Responsible for tracking and reporting any theater maintenance by coordinating necessary repairs, painting, equipment and housekeeping with the City Facilities Manager.

9. Assists with orienting and training all workers and partners and approved users, as directed.

10. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization. ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Knowledge of the physical and equipment requirements for presenting public entertainment and attractions including banquets, meetings, plays, concerts, shows, lectures, exhibits, and other events.

Knowledge of the safety requirements in buildings used for public assemblies.

Ability to organize, instruct, and direct a staff of limited skilled employees engaged in general custodial, maintenance, and ground keeping activities.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prompt and regular attendance.

Subject to work on a call-in basis, 24 hours per day, in cases of emergency.

Neat, clean, and appropriate attire suited to a business environment.

Current and valid AR driver's license.
