Job DescriptionPosition Overview:Keo & Associates is a General Contractor, Construction Manager and Design-Build Company. We are seeking a dedicated Estimating Assistant/Support with over 1 year of experience in commercial construction estimating. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and keen attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:
Reporting and Collaboration:
Report to the Senior Estimator.
Collaborate with the Pre-Construction Manager and team on potential opportunities.
Bid Management:
Monitor various bid opportunity platforms.
Attend pre-construction meetings.
Assist in preparing proposals.
Research items and request prices as needed.
Manage subcontractor procurement.
Review plans and specifications, maintaining communication with subcontractors throughout the bidding process.
Manage preconstruction RFIs during the bid period.
Scope and Pricing:
Assist in developing subcontract scopes of work.
Aid in reviewing pricing and scope of work for contracts.
Data Management:
Update data in the company job management software.
Maintain organized records of all estimates, including supporting documentation; copy, scan, and file records.
Learning and Development:
Independently research and learn about products.
Familiarize yourself with department processes and computer files.
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum 2-year degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff (or similar takeoff software).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Professional behavior and communication.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and other technical documents.
Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency with technology, computers, and software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
