Event Chef Attendant

We are a reputable catering company looking for an experienced and talented Event Chef Attendant to join our team. The Event Chef Attendant will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of various events by assisting our professional chefs in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes. This is a hands-on role that requires culinary expertise, excellent teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities:

Food Preparation and Cooking:

• Assist the head chefs in preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes for events, following established recipes and culinary standards.
• Ensure that all food items are prepared and presented to the highest quality and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain a smooth workflow during food preparation.

Plating and Presentation:

• Assist in the creative and artistic presentation of dishes to enhance their visual appeal and overall dining experience.
• Ensure that each dish is plated according to the event's specifications and adheres to the company's presentation guidelines.

Event Setup and Breakdown:

• Help with the setup and organization of cooking stations and equipment before events.
• Assist in organizing food displays and ensuring that the event area is aesthetically pleasing.
• Participate in post-event cleanup, ensuring that the kitchen area is tidy and equipment is properly stored.

Food Safety and Sanitation:

• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring that food is handled and stored properly.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the event.
• Comply with health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all team members and guests.

Customer Interaction:

• Engage with event guests in a professional and courteous manner when necessary, addressing any questions or inquiries about the food.

Inventory and Supply Management:

• Assist in monitoring inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying the kitchen management of any shortages or items nearing expiration.
• Follow established procedures for receiving, storing, and rotating food items.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Chef, Line Cook, or relevant culinary position.
• Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong culinary skills and a passion for cooking and food presentation.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced event environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Adaptability and the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on event schedules.

Note: This position may require working irregular hours depending on the event schedule.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
