Cyber Security Analyst

The Cyber Security Analyst's role is to assist in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as supporting the implementation of security measures to protect the organization's information systems and data.

Responsibilities:

  • Securing network hardware/software
  • Assisting with disaster recovery planning/configuring/testing/
  • Updating software/hardware with the latest security patches and ensuring the proper defenses are present for each network resource.
  • Identify vulnerabilities/misconfigurations.
  • Supporting the organization's security policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, procedures, and best practices
  • Assisting with security audits, risk assessments and penetration tests
  • Implementing and supporting security tools to protect data CIA (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability)
  • Monitor and respond to security breaches, incidents, and events.
  • Stay current on IT/Security trends and news.
  • Training staff with IT/Security best practices.
  • Develop and maintain documentation.
  • Assist with OCE Projects and Initiatives following our IT Strategy.

Required Competencies/Skills (not listed in order of importance):

  • Associate degree in cyber security, information technology, computer science or related field or four (4) years of equivalent experience.
  • Security Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of:
  • Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
  • Vulnerability Assessment Tools
  • Log Analysis
  • Spam Filters
  • Endpoint Security
  • Windows & Linux
  • Networking
  • Domestic travel required.
  • Ability to provide 24 hours per day and 7 days a week coverage.

Compensation:

The minimum and maximum hourly rate of pay that O'Connell Electric Company, Inc. believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting is between $24.50 to $27.00 an hour.
