Salary: $38,000-$42,000.00

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Development Associate serves as the point person for entering, tracking, and reporting on data, making available accurate and detailed information on development programs, communications, and membership. The Associate supports the Director of Development in campaigns, projects, programs, and donor engagement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION

Data Entry: Accurately enter new and updated information to Salesforce related to donations, individual and group constituents, membership in groups (such as committees), event participation, and other activity tracked in the database. Enter all data related information for Friends Counseling Services.

Retrieval: Generate and prepare basic reports that are needed on a recurrent basis.

Reconciliation: Work with accounting staff and others as needed to reconcile the data and ensure it is accurate.

Campaign tracking: Set up fundraising campaigns in the database, online-giving platform, and for the website so they support each other and can be tracked accurately.

Problem solving: Respond as needed when changes, questions, or errors arise, to resolve them, calling on other staff as needed.

Administrative Assistance: Take care of administrative tasks as needed and directed. Examples include preparing mailings, communicating with constituents, processing and sending tax forms, responding to email and phone questions, preparing reports.

DONOR RELATIONSHIPS

Events and Programs: Support the Director of Development with logistics, basic communications, and participant engagement for development-based events and programs.

Donor Engagement: Support the Director of Development in initiatives and routines that keep donors in the loop about the yearly meeting.

Thought Partner: Participate in team planning and idea-storming for fundraising campaigns and development initiatives. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An active Friend or experience with Friends’ meetings; knowledge of Quaker principles and practice
  • Three to five years of philanthropic experience preferred
  • Experience in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point, databases, and web posting
  • Good organization and planning skills and attention to detail
  • Good problem solving and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with groups
  • Ability to understand nonprofit financial reports
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and handle confidential and sensitive information required
  • Several evening meetings per month; occasional offsite and weekend work required

Commitment to PYM’s vision to become a multiracial organization with a multiracial community of staff and supporters.
    3. Senior-level staff (Managers with 5 or more years’ experience with PYM or similar organization) Candidates work for Racial Equity. They consistently integrate their deep understanding of key racial equity concepts into work projects and interactions by addressing structural implications and disproportionate impacts of policies, campaign objectives, organizing objectives, activities, and decisions on race, class, and other group identities within the context of job responsibilities and projects.
  3. Familiarity with Quaker faith and practices, and/or a willingness to gain, deepen, and nurture such knowledge.
  4. Appreciation of the role of Quaker practices in the performance of PYM duties. This includes supportive participation in annual and semi-annual multi-day “business Sessions.” Please see our website as part of familiarizing yourself with us.

TIME EXPECTATION: This is a part-time position (28 hours per week on average).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: The annual salary range is $38,000-$42,000. Benefits include medical, dental, and life insurance, commuter and health FSAs, a 403(b)-retirement plan with 7% employer contribution plus 3% match, generous paid time off including yearly vacation days (16), personal days (3), holidays (11), and sick days (9), flexible work schedule which currently allows up to three days of work from home weekly.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: PYM’s offices are located in the heart of Center City Philadelphia in a LEED certified green building called Friends Center. Currently hybrid (minimum of 2 days in the office) the PYM staff enjoys a friendly and welcoming workplace environment and collegial culture. The building complex houses a range of interesting non-profits serving local, regional, and international missions. Surrounded by an array of cultural institutions, restaurants and parks, Friends Center is minutes away from various transit portals and many of Philadelphia’s iconic sites.
