Position Overview:

Instruction of American Heart Association and similar courses, including but not limited to Heartsaver course and BLS courses, with additional options of ACLS and PALS when you feel confident. Other courses may be included as time and student count permits.

Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Role):

• Instruct students using both American Heart Association and AED Institute curriculum
• Adapt your teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of participants so they can meet course objectives.
• Ensure that required class paperwork is completed and given to the Training Support staff in a timely manner.
• Greet students at the door and welcome them into the classroom. 
• Post course announcements to students.
• Report when classroom supply levels are low and need replenishment.
• Report when equipment needs repair / replacement.
• Clean training equipment before returning

KPI’s (Expected Accomplishments):

• Work in office/teach at least 2 days a week.
• Volunteer once every quarter.
• Attend/watch instructor team meetings.
• Complete annual mandatory instructor update.

Requirements (Expected Proficiencies):

• Current American Heart Association Instructor or similar (preferred but not required)
• Have your own car as some classes will be on location. Mileage will be paid.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 25lbs (Ex. Lifting manikins for transport and set up of classes)
  • Ability to kneel for an extended period (Ex. Helping student with manikin on floor)
  • Ability to push 10lbs. (Ex. Demonstration of CPR skills)
  • Ability to stand for an extended period (Ex. During presentation of curriculum and walk around to observe students)
