Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Upper School Data Science and AP Computer Science Teacher at The Oakridge School in Arlington, TX. The ideal candidate grows through professional networking and lifelong learning, models outstanding character, integrity, and empathy, and possesses a heart for upper school-aged children. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a supportive and professional learning community where excellence and student growth are at the heart of everything we do. The teacher will be responsible for providing instruction in data science and AP computer science courses to our Upper School (9th-12th grade) students. Day-to-day tasks include lesson planning, delivering engaging and interactive lessons, assessing student progress, providing feedback and support, and collaborating with colleagues and parents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (required) or Master's degree in Computer Science with a strong understanding of secondary science curriculum and pedagogy.
• Three years of successful teaching experience in an Upper School setting, grades 9-12 (preferable).
• Demonstrated excellence in curriculum development, lesson planning and implementing engaging instructional strategies.
• Proven ability to effectively assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
