Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical billing systems and regulations, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Duties:

- Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies-knowledge of Trizetto is helpful.

- Process payments from insurance companies and patients, ensuring accurate posting of payments and adjustments

- Follow up/Appeal unpaid, underpaid or denied claims, resolving any issues or discrepancies

-Audit payments received and compare to insurance contracts

-Monitor insurance deadlines, follow up on accounts receivable

- Maintain patient records, including updating demographic information and insurance details

- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of medical services provided

Requirements:

- Experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role-Surgery billing experience preferred

- Knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10) and billing procedures

- Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses

- Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

- Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance plans
