Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel Region is Hiring an Impact Coordinator Near Greensburg, PA

TITLE: Impact Coordinator – (Part-Time)
HOURS: 10-25 hours per week – non-exempt
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: up to 25%
SALARY RANGE: $15-$20 / hour based on qualifications/experience

POSITION SUMMARY:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel Region (BBBSLR) seeks a dynamic motivated individual with a passion to help build and grow the mission and impact BBBSLR. This individual should possess skills that include being detail oriented, ability to manage and complete multiple projects, and ability to create and deliver impactful activities in support of our Matches. The successful candidate should also relate well with people, have outstanding communication skills, and be driven to help us achieve our mission. This position will help us deliver our mission in our service area that includes Westmoreland and Fayette Counties.

Our Mission: To create and support 1:1 mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Program

  • Plan and implement match activities focused on improving recruitment, building match relationships, and strengthening social-emotional and mental health.
  • Facilitate experiences across designated counties and partnerships with other organizations to provide match experiences for free or low cost.
  • Work with Development staff to negotiate with vendors/sponsors to get the lowest cost; develop relationships to secure in-kind donations/sponsorships whenever possible.
  • Use activities to engage matches, and provide support to our mentoring coordinators by assisting with survey and match support completion if needed.
  • Ensure clear budgets are in place for activities and budgets are adhered to. All invoices are submitted and allocated to correct funding sources.
  • Create a Calendar of Events which should include all planned match activities for use in newsletters and communications.
  • Secure and schedule potential volunteers to help with events as needed.

Development

  • Assist development staff with sending sponsorship solicitations and thank you acknowledgements for donations/sponsorships. These tasks require utilizing mail merge and proficiency in copier skills.
  • Complete assigned development related research tasks in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Periodically pick up necessary supplies/donations for events and office use at local businesses.
  • Assist with fundraising events: including but not limited to Golf for Kids Sake, Summer Fest, Big Night Out Gala.
  • Share with development and/or marketing staff potential partnership relationships as discovered through networking events, volunteers, affiliations, etc

Overall

· Represent the agency in meetings, speaking engagements, fundraising, and recruitment events for purposes of being a friendly, informed, and energetic ambassador of BBBSLR

· Communicate consistently and clearly with team members, and other key stakeholders to keep the projects on track.

  • Complete and submit designated reports as requested by the Executive Director.
  • Perform other duties as required by agency management.
  • Ensure high-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies, and procedures throughout all aspects of job function.

SUPERVISION

This position will report to the Development Coordinator and will be an integral part of the agency as the person will work to support both the development and program departments to advance the overall mission of the organization.

60 Day Review and Annual Reviews

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Starting salary range: $15 - $20 per hour dependent upon qualifications and experience

Available benefits:

· Work related mileage reimbursement at the IRS approved standard mileage rate.

· Eligible for Paid Time Off based on hours worked per week after one year of service and positive annual review.

  • Able to work 10 to 25 hours a week based on a flexible schedule including evenings and/or weekends.

EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree in early childhood or education, social work, human services, project management or related field. OR current students in pursuit of a related degree or experience in a similar capacity are encouraged to apply. Relevant experience equivalency will be considered for this role.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite and Canva
  • SalesForce (or similar CRM), social media, proofing and copy editing
  • Project planning and management
  • An articulated belief in the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a routine office environment that may include flexible work hours and work locations. This could include evenings and/or weekends to meet agency and community needs. Travel required to local communities (Westmoreland and Fayette Counties), event locations and businesses. The ability to lift items for event set up is essential. A vehicle, valid driver’s license, and minimum state required automobile insurance are required in this position.
