About Xiente
Xiente, formerly known as Norris Square Community Alliance (NSCA), is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming communities by empowering individuals to achieve economic mobility. Established in 1982 by a group of neighborhood women, Xiente has grown to address the comprehensive needs of the community, including affordable housing, community organizing, employment training, early childhood education, and youth development programs.
Xiente's mission is to break the cycle of generational poverty by providing families with the skills and resources needed to achieve prosperity. With a holistic and proactive approach, the organization offers a variety of programs, including mobile preschools, economic mobility initiatives, and community development projects. The Xiente Teen Center provides vital youth development opportunities, operating from 3 PM to 9 PM to engage teens in productive and educational activities. Additionally, the center serves as a safe haven for youth from 9 PM to 2 AM, offering support and services to those brought in by the police after curfew hours. This initiative ensures that young people have a secure environment where they can access essential resources and guidance during critical times.

About Workforce Readiness Coordinator
The Workforce Readiness Coordinator at Xiente facilitates group programs to empower individuals for economic mobility. This role includes coordinating workforce development initiatives, managing program logistics, and leading workshops and training sessions. Responsibilities also involve providing career guidance to teens and identifying student enrichment opportunities. The ideal candidate will have strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills, with experience in workforce development and mentoring group activities.
