1.0 INTRODUCTION1.1 The purpose of this procedure is to define the authorities, responsibilities, principle duties, reporting relationships, and measures of performance for the Delivery Driver for Raven Mechanical.
2.0 FUNCTIONAL ROLE2.1 To manage the day-to-day activities of the tools, equipment, and material purchasing and delivery while achieving cost, schedule, quality and safety goals set by the VP of Operations.
3.0 Job Requirements3.1 Preferred Education High school graduation or equivalent training.
3.2 Licenses & Certifications: Must maintain a valid and insurable Texas drivers license with the appropriate class.
3.3 Experience One year successful tools & parts coordination for construction company. Preferred: Three years overseeing the flow of tools and parts in and out of construction jobsites and warehouse.
3.4 Skills, knowledge and abilities ability to work independently, supervise and work well with others in a multi-functional fast paced environment. Must be thoroughly familiar with tools and equipment and the construction industry systems and practices.
3.5 Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and find solutions. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to manage a variety of activities simultaneously. Able to deal with a variety of problems involving human nature.
3.6 Language Skills Ability to communicate and give instructions in a clear and precise style in English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies, and employees. Ability to compose standard letters with proper format, grammar, punctuation, and spelling, using all part of speech. Ability to represent Raven Mechanical in a professional manner within the community.
3.7 Physical Requirements: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of his/her job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift heavy objects and occasionally be in uncomfortable positions. Physical-Body Positions Standing and/or sitting for long periods. The position occasionally requires stooping, kneeling, stretching, crouching, and lifting. Full body movement. Lifting at least 100 lbs. on a regular basis. Body Movements: Use of both hands, arms, eyes, ears, voice and legs.
3.8 Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. The work normally performed in the construction industry, one may be exposed to high levels of noise, cold and hot temperatures and moving machinery. Normal work hours will be 6:30am to 3:00pm Monday thru Friday, however this is a vital position and there will be times when additional time or alternate scheduled may apply for this position.
4.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS4.1 The Delivery Driver reports to the VP of Operations and Partners.
5.0 AUTHORITYThe Delivery Driver is given the necessary authority to administer the following basic functions of this position:
5.1 The Delivery Driver is vested with full authority to perform each of the responsibilities and duties outlined in this Job Description within the policy parameters established by the VP of Operations.
6.0 DUTIES & TASKSThe principal duties and tasks of the Delivery Driver are as follows:
6.1 Verifies route and schedule and drives truck to customer location.
6.2 Delivers tools, materials, equipment at prescribed intervals and assigned job sites.
6.3 Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water before and after routes and submits report indicating truck condition.
6.4 Maintains driver log according to state and federal regulations.
6.5 Respects field employee wishes and desires within reasonable limits.
6.6 Receives or gathers jobsite related materials including scrap metals, leftover inventory, returned equipment, or other job related items and returns back to shop location.
6.7 Maintains telephone or radio contact with associated personnel to receive pick-up/delivery instructions and to report progress and/or problems.
6.8 Assists with or works with inventory items housed at our warehouses including customer materials to ensure proper inventory levels, proper delivery, proper installation, and accurate paperwork for inventoried items.
6.9 Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, hydraulic lines, etc. within reason.
6.10 Treats customers and fellow employees with dignity and respect.
6.11 Complete incident reports regarding accidents and perceived problems with customers
6.12 Any and all other duties as may be assigned by VP of Operations, Tool & Material Coordinator, or Large Equipment & Material Coordinator.
6.13 Collects and submits all paperwork related to the day-to-day functions in which he/she is involved with. These may be items such as Vendor Delivery Tickets, field employee related documents, receipts, or other items and submits in good timely and good condition to appropriate personnel.
6.14 Cleans tools or equipment and ensures proper functionality prior to sending out to jobs sites.
6.15 Responsible for fueling yard trucks as well as normal maintenance items such as oil changes.
6.16 Prepares trucks the day before for deliveries the next day including equipment loads.
6.17 Maintains neat and organized area in which they work in (specifically vehicles) that he/she has control over.
6.18 Ensures safekeeping of all tools, materials, and equipment that they have control over (not necessarily on job sites) to eliminate theft, damage, and vandalism.
6.19 Responsible for snow and debris removal at the Raven Mechanical facilities.
6.20 Responsible for scrap metals including but not limited to recovery of metal piping, old rooftop units for copper, refrigerant, motors, aluminum, etc. Coordinates pick up or delivery of scrap metals.
6.21 Empties or coordinates disposal of recycle bins, garbage disposals, scrap metal bins, or others as directed by VP of Operations.
6.22 All other duties and tasks requested and/or assigned by the VP of Operations.
7.0 STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE7.1 Completes assigned runs efficiently and within expected time range.
7.2 Has no moving violations.
7.3 Does not abuse truck and maintains cab in a clean, orderly condition.
7.4 Is reliable and punctual in attendance.
7.5 Completes and submits paperwork correctly and on a timely basis.
7.6 Maintains great customer service levels with all interactions with customers.
7.7 Damaged goods has been at minimum acceptable level that he/she had control over.
7.8 Has successfully kept cleans tools or equipment and ensures proper functionality prior to sending out to jobs sites.
7.9 Displays a positive attitude and maintains a cooperative working relationship with the departments and all other staff.
7.10 Performs all duties in an independent and expeditious manner with minimal supervision and has made optimal use of time during working hours.
7.11 Consistently displays the ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
