A Typical Day
The Senior Controls Engineer, OT works under minimal supervision and is responsible for the automation controls development of HMI and PLC applications in a process manufacturing environment. Engineer will lead medium to large-sized projects and collaborate with other members of the IT and OT departments on the analysis, design, troubleshooting, problem resolution, maintenance, and documentation of manufacturing solutions.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop/modify PLC and HMI from support requests as directed by manager
• Provide 24/7 support while on call for designated time frame
• Prepare functional and technical reviews
• Assumes technical project leadership role with in project team
• Collaborate with members of IT and OT departments as needed
• Gather and translate business requirements into controls specifications
• Programming of PLC and SCADA from a variety of manufactures
• Collaborate with manufacturing clients to identify solutions to problems
• Develop/modify standards for OT department
• Assist in administration of OT applications
What You Will Need
• High School Diploma and 10 years experience or Associates Degree in related field and 8 years experience or Bachelors Degree in related field and 6 years of experience
• Strong trouble-shooting, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Experience with projects or issues of moderate complexity that require in depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and lines of business
• Ability to resolve a broad range of problems utilizing internal and external resources
• Experience advising the business on improvements and innovations and drives continuous improvement across the enterprise
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills (both technical and non-technical), with an emphasis on the effective representation of complex OT concepts to non-IS audiences
• Understanding of business system design in a manufacturing environment
What Will Put You Ahead
• Bachelors degree in related field and 9 years related experience or Masters degree in related field and 7 years related experience
• MES experience
• VMWare and Windows Data Center Operating System management experience
• Data Center Hardware experience such as HP, Cisco, Brocade, Fortinet
