Breakthrough T1D is expanding its reach to the Spanish-speaking communities in the United States, and the social media associate will play a pivotal role in helping us provide culturally and linguistically relevant content that will help Spanish-speaking people live better with type 1 diabetes.
We’re looking for a talented part-time (approx. 20 hours/week) bilingual social media associate to coordinate the organization’s Spanish-language social media efforts. The social media associate will be responsible for developing and managing our social media channels as well as creating content for the Spanish platforms. Strong proficiency in speaking and writing Spanish is a requirement for consideration.
This role will report to the Director of Multicultural Community Programs but will partner closely with the Marketing & Communications Department to ensure all materials are on brand, leveraging existing templates, and aligned with Breakthrough T1D's look, feel, tone, and strategic communications priorities.
Objectives Of This Role

• Develop, launch, and manage the organization's Spanish-language social media accounts
• Create and curate relevant social media content, including posts and videos
• Develop strategies to generate a fan base and increase traffic on social media platforms
• Build and execute social media strategies
• Publish content, engage with online supporters, and respond to comments
• Identify T1D social influencers in the Hispanic community for partnership

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Spanish social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
• Contribute to the development and execution of social media strategies, plans, content, posting/publishing, campaigns, reporting, and analyzing data to provide effective social media results
• Create and manage Spanish language social media calendar in collaboration with the Marketing team
• Monitor and respond to inquiries across established Spanish social media channels
• Improve audience visibility on the organization’s website and promote audience interaction
• Identify opportunities for internal process creation and change and implement them
• Demonstrate ability to consistently identify, flag, and engage on trending topics
• Attend meetings as requested and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications And Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing or a related field
• 2-5 years of experience in community management, social media, paid media, and other areas of marketing
• Must demonstrate strong proficiency with all social media platforms, best practices, and trends
• Excellent copywriting skills and ability to communicate key messages clearly and creatively
• Spreadsheet, Office, and Microsoft Office expertise
• Bilingual (Native Spanish/English) with excellent written and verbal Spanish/English language skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both individually and collaboratively with team members
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Data-driven and strong attention to detail
• Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment simultaneously
