J&S Transportation, an established auto transport company, is seeking a self-driven, goal oriented salesperson to represent our company at various auto auctions to acquire vehicles (freight) to transport to dealerships and other auctions. As well as soliciting business at auto dealerships in our sales area. At least one sales trip per month in our sales area or as management decides, no more than 8-10 days per month on the road. Some auctions can be a one day trip depending on flight schedules. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Candidate must possess a disciplined comfort level working from a home based office.

Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain an existing customer base.

Prospect and develop new customers.

Communicate daily with the main office providing updates and/or delays for freight availability.

Communicate with customers by text, email, phone daily.

Provide rate quotes to new and existing customers.

Enter new freight orders into the company database. Verify availability of new freight, point of contact.

Manage 3 part time employees that assist at auctions. This is very low maintenance, as these employees have been with us for a while.

Travel several times per month for promotional sales at auto auctions in Salt Lake City, Boise, Seattle, Spokane.

Qualifications:

Enthusiastic and outgoing personality.

Excellent communication skills and customer service.

Strong sales skills necessary. Previous sales experience preferred.

Computer skills.

Strong organizational skills and time management.

Good math skills necessary.

Strong memory retention for names, details, freight rates.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

General knowledge of the transportation and/or auto industry preferred but not required.

Must have a good driving record.

Sales Area:

Northwestern US: Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Utah, California, Nevada, Wyoming.

Company vehicle supplied.

Salary DOE.
