• 745am to 415pm (M, W, Th, F); 1130a-8p/close (Tues) weekly night shift; 1 weekend shift a month (TBD on schedule)
• 8a-5p (M & Tues) 8a-4p (wed) 1130a-8/close (Thurs) 9a-630p (Fri); 1 weekend shift a month (TBD on schedule)

Overview
Responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff with patient care. Responsible for chart management and patient flow. Performs delegated medical tasks and may perform clerical duties. Where the electronic system is in use, this position will utilize the system as documented in the department and/or standard operating procedure and process; and other duties as assigned.

• Doctors rotate from Baltimore throughout the week to meet patients out in Columbia - anything from Ortho, Endo will come through 1-2 days a week.
• Perform blood draws and administer injections
• Triage and room patients in a busy office setting
• Assist with patient care in both urgent care and primary care environments
• Start in urgent care, with training provided in that office
• Transition to helping in other specialty buildings once proficient in EPIC
• Work alongside and receive training from 3 tenured Medical Assistants (MAs) in urgent care
• See and assist several patients daily in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Two to three years medical assisting and medical office experience
• Medical Assistant certification required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Demonstrated skill in venipuncture
• CPR certification is required
