Tell me more..... The Transit Manager will manage all activities of the Transit Division. This role includes supporting administrative functions, developing operation and service plans, developing policies, procedures, goals, objectives, and budgets. The manager will also handle regional transit service contracts, federal grant activity for transit projects, and the Peoria Transit Tax. This position involves significant interaction with local, regional, and national organizations to represent the City of Peoria.

The ideal candidate for this position will have: - Strong leadership skills to oversee full-time, part-time, temporary, and seasonal non-benefited employees.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with local, regional, and national organizations, and to manage intergovernmental agreements and contracts.
- Ability to develop, administer, and monitor budgets, including forecasting revenues and expenditures.
- Proficiency in managing compliance with regulatory guidelines, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring the effective operation of the transit division.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities to enhance transit services and address community needs.
- A strong community focus, aiming to anticipate and meet the needs of the community through effective transit solutions.

- Experience: Minimum of five years progressively responsible related experience. Requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.
Licenses and Certifications: - Valid AZ Driver's License upon hire.
Preferred / Desirable Qualifications: - Experience in a municipal or government setting.
- Five years minimum of previous supervisory experience is preferred.
