LIT Workshop is Hiring a Welding Assistant Near Portland, OR
Job Description
Location: Portland, OR
Overview: We are seeking a skilled Welding Assistant to join our team in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and possess a range of skills including calipers and micrometers, deburring, machine setups for production, quality inspection.
Shift: We are looking for one MON-THUR (4x10 hour shift) and one FRI-SUN (3x12 hour shift) candidate. Please state which position you are interested in when you apply.
Responsibilities:- Assist welders in the movement, loading, and unloading of parts.
- Assist welders in running parts through various types of machines.
- Light MIG and TIG welding under the direction of main welder.
- Use gantrys and dollys to move steel structures.
- Perform deburring tasks to ensure smooth edges on metal parts.
- Assist with machine setups for production runs.
- Utilize calipers and micrometers for precise measurement.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure products meet standards.
- Regular attendance required.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
- Ability to read a tape measure required
- Basic MIG and TIG welding experience
- Ability to do basic shop math required
- Experience using calipers and micrometers
- Experience with Press Brakes a plus
- Prior deburring experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the job
Salary info:
$20 - $25 / hr
