As a Derivatives Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing, valuing, and managing derivatives products for investment portfolios or trading desks. Your responsibilities will include conducting financial analysis, modeling complex derivative structures, assessing risk exposures, and providing recommendations to portfolio managers or traders. You will need strong quantitative skills, knowledge of derivative instruments, and the ability to navigate financial markets to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze derivative products, including options, futures, swaps, and other structured products, to assess their pricing, valuation, and risk characteristics.
  2. Develop and maintain financial models to value derivatives, estimate risk metrics, and analyze the impact of market factors on derivative prices and portfolios.
  3. Perform scenario analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate potential outcomes and risks associated with derivative positions.
  4. Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and risks in derivative markets.
  5. Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and risk managers to develop hedging strategies, optimize portfolio exposures, and manage risk within established risk limits.
  6. Prepare derivative-related reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders, including investment committees, senior management, and regulatory authorities.
  7. Conduct research on new derivative products, market trends, and trading strategies to enhance the firm's derivatives capabilities and competitive edge.
  8. Stay informed about industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements in derivatives trading and risk management.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, mathematics, economics, or a related field. Master's degree or CFA designation preferred.
  2. Previous experience in derivatives trading, risk management, or financial analysis roles preferred.
  3. Strong quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and programming languages such as Python or R.
  4. Knowledge of derivative instruments, including options, futures, swaps, forwards, and their pricing models.
  5. Familiarity with derivative trading platforms, order management systems, and risk management tools.
  6. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data, analyze market trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  7. Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly and concisely.
  8. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
