The Vermont Democratic Party (VDP) is seeking a Data Director to handle the day-to-day data needs of the VDP, Vermont Democratic town and county committees, and municipal, state and federal campaigns. This position will work across departments, with the DNC, and with partner vendors to apply existing data and incorporate new data to build successful campaigns, to train grassroots volunteers, and campaign and VDP staff on best practices, and to improve the quality and utilization of the VDP’s data inventory.
Though Vermont’s overall data pool is small, that same size gives a data director exciting new opportunities to develop and test creative new strategies.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with data on political campaigns or with state parties and political data.
Responsibilities include:
Qualifications/Skills:
-Knowledge of VAN/Votebuilder and NGP, with preference for administrator experience
-Experience with SQL, python, or other coding languages effective for analyzing large datasets
-Experience with data visualization languages or platforms
-Experience training low information volunteers and power users alike on data systems
-The ability to translate statistical concepts and data for general audiences
-1-2 cycles of electoral campaign experience
-Ability to manage details and multiple simultaneous tasks
- Responsiveness and timeliness in communications
Salary
This is a full-time salaried position. Salary for this full-time position begins at $55,000/year with benefits as described in the USW District 4 Union contract, including personal, sick and vacation leave, fully paid health, vision, and dental insurance. This position is part of a union team represented by USW District 4.
