This full-time, day shift role offers a unique opportunity to impact emergency nursing and develop a dedicated team.
As Critical Care Director you will be responsible for the 24-hour management and leadership of the assigned units, ensuring exceptional patient care, fostering a healthy work environment for staff, and overseeing both clinical and administrative functions. This role also includes a generous $15,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates, contingent on a two-year commitment.
As a Critical Care Director, you will collaborate with medical staff to monitor patient outcomes and set clinical quality priorities, promoting teamwork among hospital staff and healthcare professionals. Your role involves recommending and implementing improvements and patient safety initiatives, analyzing nurse and patient satisfaction data to develop action plans, and using critical thinking and data to shape the department vision and manage complex changes. You will foster productive working relationships and clear communication to engage and educate staff, address workplace issues, and promote an inclusive environment. Additionally, you will set clinical, financial, and human resource priorities aligned with organizational goals, innovate in staff development and continuing education, support clinicians in their oversight roles, and encourage shared governance through a unit-based professional practice council.
What will make you stand out?
- 4 years of progressive leadership experience, with relevant clinical experience preferred.
- BS/BSN at the time of hire; a master’s degree/MSN
- If the BS degree is not in nursing, a master’s or higher degree in nursing is preferred
- If the master’s degree is not in nursing, a BSN is preferred
- Enrollment in a master’s or MSN program within one year of hire/transfer date, to be completed within three years.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care for patients of all ages served by the unit.
- Analytical skills to evaluate staff, address clinical issues, and solve complex problems.
- Leadership ability to develop staff and maintain performance standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and support a healing environment.
- Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the practicing state.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Emergency Neurological Life Support
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification
- Act 34
- Multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) participation if applicable
