Responsibilities
- Preparing financial statements such as balance sheets, income, and cash flow statements.
- Overseeing accounting operations, including the design of an organizational structure.
- Maintaining our financial accounting system, including the chart of accounts and manual describing all accounting policies and procedures.
- Assisting in the development and monitoring of the annual budget.
- Coordinating the preparation of annual financial audits, reviews, and tax returns.
- Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
- Preparing and presenting financial reports to management, addressing insightful observations and potential improvement recommendations.
- Liaising with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
- Supporting the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Ensuring the company complies with all regulatory requirements.
RequirementsQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum five years of experience in a similar position, preferably in an engineering firm.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designations will be a strong advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Advanced numeracy and Excel skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proven experience in financial reporting and tax preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
