Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Procurement to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop a strategic procurement function within our Engineering organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role requires a strong leader who can drive change and implement best practices in procurement.
Responsibilities:

• Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
• Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
• Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
• Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures.
• Manage and supervise the procurement team.
• Develop a procurement business plan.
• Coordinate with vendor management and contract management.
• Implement new or improved supply chain processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or a related field, preferably within the engineering industry.
• Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
• Proven leadership skills, with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence others.
• Ability to analyze and forecast financial trends.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and contract law.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
• Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management is preferred.
