Jupiter Holdings is Hiring a Human Resource Generalist Near Charleston, SC

Description

Reports to the HR Manager and provides administrative HR support to Buck Lumber, Buck Management, and other related companies. An ideal candidate will participate in the development and execution of department objectives and policies that meet the human resources needs of the organization. This role interacts and supports a diverse group who work at all levels inside and outside the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.

Benefits & General Administration

¨ Assists the HR Manager in the administration of the health, dental, 401k and all benefits offered, including but not limited to, open enrollment, 401k submission, invoice reconciliation, and communicating benefits information. 

¨ Submit 401k contributions weekly (in the absence of the HR Manager).

¨ Maintains compliance with federal and state employment regulations. 

¨ Run monthly reports for benefit eligibility, birthdays, and anniversaries. 

¨ Monthly process of creating profiles in the benefit portal; communicate eligibility to the employees and managers.

¨ Verify drivers are insurable by insurance carrier, audit and update up the system every six months. (Buck Lumber only)

¨ Run background checks (hotels only)

Employee Relations and Government Reporting, 

¨ Assists the HR Manager with employee relations consultations, investigations, and resolution.

¨ Maintain the quarterly random drug-screening program.

¨ Support HR Manager in creating records and tracking of FMLA, Short-Term and Long-Term disability requests.

¨ Support HR Manager in legal issues and government required reporting throughout the year. 

Onboarding and Payroll Processing 

¨ Process levies, employee verification and changes to employee records. 

¨ Process record updates and run weekly payroll for Buck Lumber and Buck Management. 

¨ Process record updates and run bi-weekly payroll for three hotels.

¨ Responsible for onboarding processes and support to management in the Paylocity onboarding module.

¨ Monitor E-Verify TNC alerts. 

¨ Maintain payroll related reports. 

Requirements

¨ A bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in HR Management or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties. 

¨ Excellent organizational and project-management skills, as well as a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations if required. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.

¨ Advanced knowledge of MS Office Applications and Windows operating systems required. Knowledge of Paylocity is a plus.

¨ Analytical ability is required to gather and summarize data for reports, solve various problems, and prioritize work.
