Apex is looking for a
Funds Sales Manager to join its Sales Team based in Continental Europe. Apex has built a successful practice to support Asset Managers and Institutional Investors and is aiming to grow its footprint in the DACH & Nordics region. The successful candidate will be based in
Germany, preferably in the region around Munich or Frankfurt, responsible for sourcing and winning new mandates for Apex Group. Reporting into the Regional Head of Business Development based in Luxembourg, the successful candidate will be expected to work proactive, independently when required, and as part of team. Some European travel is expected.
The successful candidate will have a strong business development background, an excellent knowledge of the industry and an existing network of Asset Managers and Influencers/Intermediaries.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Developing a strong pipeline of potential new clients, in Europe – targeting primarily new client launches with revenue target of EUR1m for year 1 and growing afterwards.
- Developing sales & marketing strategy, initiating and managing key campaigns in target markets – especially Germany, Austria & Switzerland.
- Building relationships with key intermediaries such as lawyers, placement agents and consultants that can introduce suitable clients to Apex.
- Attending local Investment Management and Fund industry conferences and events.
- Understanding of the key regulatory drivers impacting the European investment management space such as MiFID II and AIFMD.
- Gaining knowledge of the key European and Global fund jurisdictions and their various merits for different types of managers and investors.
- Preparation and presentation of deal documentation for internal pipeline committees.
- Responding to RFP’s and issuing proposals to new clients.
- Assisting with client onboarding where necessary.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience of relevant experience with a focus on cross-selling ‘Single-Source-Solution’ across jurisdictions.
- Existing network of institutional LPs, GPs and other business introducers.
- Market understanding of fund establishment and operation.
- Strong networker, willingness to network outside of work hours.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, phone manner, written and presentation skills.
- Organized, accurate and willing to learn and take on new tasks.
- Ability to trouble shoot and problem-solve.
- Strong PC skills including MS Office and CRM tools (e.g. SalesForce).
- Language skills (beside German and English) would be an advantage but not necessary.
- Educated to graduate level and/or an accountancy qualification would be an advantage but not necessary.
