Role accountabilities:

As a Health and Safety Manager, you will oversee the development, implementation, and management of health and safety standards for data center projects. You will ensure compliance with relevant regulations, promote a culture of safety, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to mitigate risks and create safe working environments for all stakeholders involved in high-tech infrastructure projects.

  • Develop and implement health and safety plans and procedures tailored to the unique requirements of data center projects, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the safety of personnel and contractors on-site.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, standards, and codes throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to workers, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering a proactive safety culture on-site and within project teams.
  • Monitor incidents and near-misses, conducting investigations where necessary, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Oversee on-site safety inspections and audits, document findings and reporting regularly to clients and stakeholders on health and safety performance.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, engineers, and regulatory authorities, to ensure alignment on health and safety objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's, Master's degree or equivalent Health and Safety Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience (3 years) in health and safety management, preferably in the construction industry or engineering sector, ideally with a focus on Data Centers (desirable) or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and codes (local and international).
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification techniques.
  • Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail in health and safety planning and implementation.
  • Team-oriented working style, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Fluency in English and German, both written and verbal, is essential.
  • Willingness to regularly travel within Germany and abroad as required for project demands.
