Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. manages three classified growths in the Pauillac appellation, including the illustrious Château Mouton Rothschild. It also produces and sells a range of high-quality branded wines which it sources from various partner winegrowers then blends, matures and bottles itself, foremost among them the famous Mouton Cadet. It has two distinct lines of business, the Estates and branded wines, united under a single management in the same pursuit of excellence.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild (BPhR) is looking for a German and Austrian Sales Area Manager, based in Germany and reporting to the Export Area Director Eastern Europe - Africa – Middle East – Global Travel Retail.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

You will overview the development of Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s strategic brands (Mouton Cadet, Escudo Rojo, Mapu) together with our distribution partners in the markets.

  • Lead and motivate the teams and clients of our strategic partners towards the development of the BPhR strategic brands in the markets.
  • Secure the perfect execution of the yearly business plan (shipment, depletions) and monitor the key performance indicators agreed with the distributors.
  • Recommend and ensure implementation of the major activations as set out in the marketing plan. Monitor closely and optimize the budgets allocated.
  • Sustain our growth in the e-commerce and on trade channel
  • Identify and secure business opportunities in the key accounts of all channels (off trade, on trade, e-commerce, B2B/B2C)
  • Promote and develop our strategic brand image on the field and via a network of prescribers (distributors, clients, key influencers)

The mission also includes analyzing our brand performance versus the market performance and gathering market and competitive intelligence.

The position is a home office position which can be based in Munich, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt An Main or Hamburg inn agreement with the successul candidate.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Minimum 5/10 years’ experience in the wines and spirits industry, preferably with an experience of distributor and sales force management ;
  • With a proven track record in W&S, sales & marketing & educational expertise, the candidate must own excellent communication skills and must be reliable and efficient;
  • Strong analytics and synthesis skills are required ;
  • Creativity, pragmatism, and critical sense are important assets ;
  • Must be German speaking with fluency in English, other languages such as French is a plus ;
  • Mobile, ready to travel in the Business Area.
