Our team in Essen currently has an opening for a
Product Data Excellence Manager (m/w/d).
In this role, you will contribute to a key product portfolio steering project, ensure the accuracy of product data during Global Product Hierarchy (GPH) maintenance, and support change requests and various data-driven initiatives.
Your Role & Responsibilities
- Manage Global Product Hierarchy (GPH) mapping tasks within the Global Product creation workflow, ensuring accurate maintenance, changes, and enrichment of data in SAP MDG.
- Support the implementation of comprehensive data excellence initiatives, driving harmonization across global regions including EMEA, NA, LATAM, and APAC.
- Conduct detailed analysis of product, customer, and supplier data to assess its accuracy, consistency, and completeness within BES.
- Perform in-depth reviews of product, customer, and supplier mappings, ensuring proper product allocation in BES and consistency across key BI tools and systems like SAP Business Warehouse, HFM, and PowerBI.
- Validate, update, and enrich GPH information during the creation or modification of global product master data.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of GPH data, confirming that allocations align with central governance and established guidelines.
- Escalate GPH creation or change requests to designated project managers or, when necessary, to global decision-making bodies and relevant BES stakeholders.
- Enforce Brenntag’s global standards and guidelines while serving as a key communication partner to regional and local teams, offering support and guidance on data-related inquiries.
YOUR PROFILE
Ideally you will have a strong background in
master data creation and change management within an international operational framework and will bring valuable expertise in
data analysis and data cleaning activities.
Key Qualifications:
- Master Data Experience: Proven experience in managing master data creation and change processes across global operations, ensuring consistency and accuracy in data management.
- Strong Analytical and Data Skills: Expertise in a broad range of data analysis techniques, with a keen eye for identifying data inconsistencies, performing root-cause analysis, and ensuring data integrity through cleaning activities.
- Understanding of Product Master Data: A solid understanding of product master data structure and its use within various business processes, reporting requirements, and systems on a global scale.
- Product Creation Knowledge: A strong grasp of the product creation processes and their effects on regional and local business processes (experience in this area is preferred).
- Problem-Solving Capabilities: Demonstrated ability to use analytical skills to identify and resolve issues, ensuring smooth and efficient data operations.
- Master Data Tools Experience: Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) tools and processes, ideally with hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining these systems to streamline operations.
