Data Engineer – Renewable Energy Sector

About the Role

An innovative company in the renewable energy sector is looking for a Data Engineer to help transform data infrastructure and ETL processes. This role involves maintaining robust pipelines, optimizing data processing, and supporting the development of new functionalities to enhance data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create scalable ETL pipelines for processing large datasets.
• Improve data infrastructure to ensure reliable and timely dataset updates.
• Support the development of new functionalities by integrating data in optimal formats for application queries.
• Develop and refine data quality processes.
• Explore new approaches to data sourcing and processing, including AI capabilities.
• Regularly present work, gather feedback, and iterate on improvements.

What You Bring:

• Experience with ETL pipeline development and orchestration of data workflows.
• Strong Python skills for implementing data processing scripts.
• Hands-on experience with modern database systems (Postgres/PostGIS knowledge preferred).
• Practical understanding of cloud services for data storage and processing (experience with AWS is a plus).
• Ability to approach tasks creatively and work autonomously.
• Motivation to work in a startup environment.
• Clear communication skills in English & German
