Job Description

This role is an essential position in our Commercial Centre of Competence. You will work directly with interdisciplinary teams on exciting strategic projects and ensure that we commercialise our projects in the best possible way.

• Work in partnership with our Wind, PV and Power-to-X teams in the areas of business development, financing, legal, project development and realisation.
• Develop commercial best practices for contracting partnerships, JVs, and offtake agreements and create reference lists of necessary and advantageous contract terms to optimise the risk/return ratio.
• Adapt best practices for our different countries and segments (power, hydrogen, derivatives).
• Collaborate with the finance department to assess the bankability of term sheets and offtake agreements as well as the critical terms for co-investments or the entry of financial investors.
• Evaluate term sheets and advise business development and commercial teams in our country organisations on negotiation objectives and strategies from a commercial perspective.
  
  

Qualifications

• Degree in law or economics (VWL, BWL)
• At least 3 years of professional experience in one of the following areas: Law firm with focus on energy projects, commercial project development in renewables and/or Power to X, business development or other commercial roles at a gas trader, project financing of innovative energy projects.
• Knowledge of different negotiation stages (e.g. letters of intent, heads of terms, non-binding offers, binding offers) for various different business and partnership models (e.g. offtake agreement, tolling agreement, joint ventures, etc).
• Sound knowledge of the legal structure of various agreements (e.g. letters of intent, heads of terms, non-binding offers, binding offers), in particular in the field of renewable energies and innovative energies.
• Experience in analysing energy markets and the legal and political framework of the energy sector.
• Ability to lead complex negotiations and make strategic decisions
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
