SOTIF Expert - Automated Driving / ISO 21448 / Automotive

We are collaborating with a world-leading research center in Germany, engaged in pioneering next-generation AD/ADAS projects. The team is expanding and seeking an Expert Engineer with deep expertise in Automated Driving and SOTIF.

Key Responsibilities for the SOTIF Expert Role:

• Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses of AD/ADAS and Active Safety systems, utilizing ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 methodologies (e.g., FMEDA, FTA, STPA).
• Develop, review, and refine system safety concepts, architectures, and associated safety measures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and evaluate AD/ADAS safety architectures, ensuring coverage of fail-operational, fail-degraded, and fail-safe aspects.
• Define and review safety requirements at the system and software levels, with a focus on performance, functional safety, and SOTIF properties.
• Keep abreast of industry standards, regulations, and trends, and share relevant insights within the organization.

Key Requirements:

• A minimum of an MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with relevant experience in automotive system/software safety engineering.
• Hands-on experience in SOTIF engineering, including proficiency with ISO 21448, STPA, and residual risk quantification.
• Strong knowledge of automotive safety engineering principles, ISO 26262, and various safety analysis methods (HAZOP/HARA/FMEA/FTA).
• Familiarity with L2/NCAP regulations and safety standards.
