The University of Music and Theatre Munich (Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, HMTM) is seeking to fill the following position for the winter semester 2025/26:
We are looking for a renowned, artistically outstandingly qualified personality (m/f/x) with international concert experience and a high level of pedagogical and didactic competence in the field of jazz guitar and ensemble work. We expect stylistic diversity and pedagogical experience, preferably at a music academy.
Recruitment requirements (see Art. 57 Para. 2 BayHIG) are proof of special aptitude for artistic work and additional artistic achievements. In addition, the proof of relevant degrees or comparable qualifications and pedagogical aptitude, organisational skills, the ability to work in a team, and a willingness to play an active role in the self-administration of the university (e.g., jazz institute management or university committees) are essential.
Employment is offered as a professor (m/f/x) in a private-law employment relationship, which is initially limited to two years.
We welcome all applications regardless of age, gender, ethnic and cultural origin, religion, ideology, sexual orientation and identity. The university seeks to increase the proportion of women in the arts and teaching and therefore strongly encourages female artists to apply. The position is suitable for people with severe disabilities. Applicants with a severe disability will be given preferential consideration if their suitability, qualifications, and professional performance are otherwise essentially equal.
It is planned to hold trial teaching events probably on 14th / 15th July 2025.
