A Day in Your Life at MKS:
We are looking for an exceptional Field Service Engineer (f/m/d) to cover high-tech production systems, lasers, motion stages, and vacuum products of MKS Instruments. The primary focus of this position is to support laser and amplifier systems for scientific and industrial applications.
You Will Make an Impact By:
Installing, diagnosing, and repairing ultra-short pulse laser systems, as well as performing optical alignments and troubleshooting of electromechanical subassemblies.
Maintaining the operational functionality of scientific and industrial laser equipment.
Instructing customers on the operation and maintenance of their systems.
Serving as the company interface between customers and the factory on administrative and technical matters.
Determining methods and procedures for new assignments.
Performing other duties as assigned, which may include shift work, weekend coverage, and on-call responsibilities.
The primary region for customer support will be Germany, but occasional travel abroad may be necessary.
Additional travel to the US and abroad for product trainings is also a requirement.
Skills You Bring:
Ideally a bachelor’s or master’s degree in physics or electrical engineering, or a technical qualification with additional certifications.
Excellent communication skills combined with a self-driven, proactive work approach.
Several years of relevant experience in Field Service, Engineering and collaboration with high-profile clients.
Experience with semiconductor equipment would be an advantage.
A motivated approach to problem-solving along with strong analytical and business thinking skills.
A structured, customer-oriented mindset coupled with enthusiasm for innovative solutions.
The ability to thrive in cross-functional teams, fostering team spirit and guiding collaborative efforts towards identifying improvement steps.
Fluency in German and English is essential for this role.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, rapidly changing high-tech environment.
Willingness to travel internationally to support MKS Instruments installations and applications, as well as for product trainings.
