Role Overview:
The Country Manager Germany will be responsible for driving business growth through a strong sales-led approach. This includes overseeing the entire P&L, executing the strategic growth plan, and building a high-performing team. The role requires close collaboration with the international leadership team to ensure business processes, brand vision, and operational standards are maintained at a high level.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Growth and Business Development:
- Implement a growth strategy to expand the German business unit from €2M to €10M over the next five years.
- Identify new market opportunities and sectors to drive revenue growth.
- Gather market insights to refine product offerings and strategy.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and partnerships.
- Adapt the business model to the German market while maintaining core company values.
2. P&L Management:
- Full ownership of the German business unit’s P&L, ensuring profitability.
- Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Regularly review financial metrics with the finance team and report to senior leadership.
3. Sales and Pipeline Growth:
- Drive sales efforts, establish clear targets, and ensure achievement of revenue goals.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline within the German market.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute market-aligned campaigns.
- Engage in business development activities and key client negotiations.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, onboard, and manage a high-performing team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Provide mentorship and training programs to support team development.
- Implement succession planning for key roles.
5. Operational Alignment with Global Entity:
- Ensure business processes align with global standards and best practices.
- Maintain brand consistency and operational excellence across the German entity.
- Collaborate closely with international teams to share insights and align strategies.
6. Compliance and Health & Safety:
- Ensure full compliance with German legal and regulatory requirements.
- Promote and maintain a strong Health & Safety culture within the business.
7. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to refine strategy.
- Identify new opportunities for product and service improvements.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership for business enhancement.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing a business unit or similar senior leadership role within the industrial sector in Germany.
- Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong background in sales, business development, and P&L management.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to drive profitable growth.
- Deep understanding of the German market, industry trends, and business culture.
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Experience scaling a business and achieving ambitious revenue targets.
- Ability to work effectively with international teams and stakeholders.
- Previous experience with international business operations is a plus.
