The Head of Health and Safety will lead HSE efforts across our clients German operations, ensuring a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture. This full-time, on-site role in the Greater Munich Metropolitan Area offers a hybrid working model, combining field and office-based responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead Safety Culture: Deliver safety training at all levels to embed a proactive, prevention-focused culture throughout the business.
- Site Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular site visits to assess compliance with safety regulations and ensure high standards are consistently met.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and enhance safety procedures and operational processes using best practices to drive efficiency and risk reduction.
- Incident & Risk Analysis: Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
- Risk Management: Contribute to the development and regular updating of risk assessments, safety protocols, and operational instructions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with project managers, senior leadership, and HR to design and implement safety programmes aligned with business objectives.
- Internal & External Audits: Lead internal safety audits and coordinate external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO 45001 and other relevant standards.
- Technical Representation: Participate actively in safety committees and technical meetings, promoting best practices and continuous learning.
Skills and Experience Required
- Completed academic studies or vocational training in a relevant field
- Extensive professional experience in HSE, ideally within the construction or energy sectors
- Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit)
- Fluent in German and English (Spanish is a plus)
- Strong practical knowledge of construction site operations
- Class B driving licence
- Willingness to travel regularly across Germany
