Rail Senior Project Engineer

Your Tasks:

• Ensure timely delivery of design work packages while adhering to the planned budget.
• Lead Project Monitoring and Control activities, including schedule maintenance, CTC, MPR updates, meeting minutes, risk register management, and change order processing.
• Prioritize and track software problem report status while overseeing engineering and software development tasks.
• Monitor performance metrics and assess progress toward key objectives.
• Conduct regular client meetings to clarify requirements and ensure timely fulfillment.
• Facilitate scope and requirement discussions with technical teams and customers.
• Document and communicate project progress to stakeholders and clients.
• Actively contribute to developing an optimal overall project technical solution.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, including CMMI, CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, and IPC.
• Communicate project objectives to the team and ensure alignment of technical activities with the project schedule.
• Maintain robust Configuration Management, including document management and transmittal processes.
• Delegate tasks effectively based on team members' skills, experience, and expertise to optimize project execution.
• Oversee requirement specification and integration compliance across project and system disciplines.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Lead Systems/Software Engineer for large-scale software control system applications.
• Proficiency in English and German.
• In-depth knowledge of German railway signaling and control systems.
• Experience in basic Project Management, including budgeting, schedule monitoring, and risk management.
• Strong ability to maintain and control project budgets.
• Expertise in developing and tracking project schedules.
• Proficiency in maintaining risk registers and managing project risks.
• Skilled in resource and task management to ensure project efficiency.
• Extensive understanding of software development lifecycles, software/hardware integration, and system delivery processes.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office suite, scheduling tools (MS Project or Primavera), requirements management systems, and software configuration tools.
• Prior experience in managing small to medium-sized projects and leading project teams.
• Proven ability to lead, engage, and coordinate cross-functional teams with diverse skill sets and experience levels.
• Strong multitasking capabilities, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and leadership skills.
• Highly detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
