About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic person to join our team and train as a Physiology Technician undertaking the following procedures:

  • ECGs
  • Exercise stress testing
  • Cardiac monitoring application (Blood pressure, Holter and Event)
  • Lung function tests

As a trainee, you will be learning to perform these diagnostic tests, transitioning from fully supervised instruction to working independently while completing the theory and assessment criteria to achieve the Society of Cardiopulmonary (SCT) Certificate of Physiological Measurement (CPM).

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Clinical Physiology department at Te Whatu Ora Lakes is a small, passionate and fun team with close, supportive, working relationships with our senior medical and multi-disciplinary teams. We provide a diagnostic service for patients requiring Cardiology, Respiratory and Neurological investigation.

About you

The applicant must meet the following educational requirements:

  • Have a minimum of (60 credits at Level 2 NCEA, plus 20 credits at any level, plus literacy and numeracy credit requirements at level 1 NCEA) including a pass in one of the following: Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics

The applicant must:

  • Have high personal expectations, is self-directed and uses initiative
  • Dedicated to patient care, upholds confidentiality with a reputation for high integrity and discretion
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Be able to work under direction and as part of a team

Please note: This role does not require a degree, please do not apply as an entry to physiologist or sonographer training.
