Floating Support Worker

Summary

We have opportunity for two passionate and dedicated Floating Support Workers to join our new service in Newport on a full-time, permanent basis. This service provides support to individuals within the community and across supported accommodation sites.

It is essential that the successful candidate has a drivers licence and access to a vehicle.

Your role will sit within our Support division in the Newport area where you will help facilitate a way for people to live a more fulfilling life. You will work with your team to truly make a difference in the lives of people we support.

You will work with talented and experienced people who have a passion for supporting individuals experiencing challenging times. No two days are the same and it’s especially rewarding when you are a part of an individual’s development and growth. You will also be responsible for the housing management of our shared accommodations sites where you will play a key part in overseeing the day-to-day operations.

Your Day With Consist Of

• Conducting needs assessments and person centred support plans
• Provide practical and emotional support to the individuals you support
• Provide support around housing challenges, mental health issues, substance misuse issues and other complex needs.
• Assisting with sustaining and securing suitable accommodation
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
• Developing your networking skills by working in partnership with external agencies
• Monitoring the safety of the shared accommodation sites including maintenance, Fire safety and daily checks
  
  

Who We Are Looking For

• Previous experience in a similar role
• A passion and commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and promoting independence and wellbeing
• Organisation and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A non-judgmental and empathetic approach
  
  

What are the pay and benefits?

• Full-time, Permanent position
• Competitive salary of £24,531.00
• An enhanced DBS is required for this role which we will pay for
• 26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays
