This role offers a unique opportunity to work within an international legal and compliance environment. We’re looking for a candidate who is eager to develop their skills in close collaboration with legal and compliance professionals and teams. The position involves analyzing data from complex systems, such as SAP or multi-instance environments, as well as from spend management tools used in legal departments or similar platforms within the professional services industry. The responsibilities include supporting legal departments through budgeting, financial reporting, spend management, and financial data analysis. You would be working under the supervision of an experienced, open minded, knowledge sharing team.
Responsibilities:
Run and analyze financial data (e.g., budgets, forecasts, legal spend) from SAP and Legal Tracker
Prepare reports on spending by firm, budget vs. actual, and system cross-checks ( responsibility for the quality of the data in Sap/Tracket/HighQ)
Engage with team members and external legal firms to query the financial data is correct and information is being completed as required to be able to run accurate financial reporting.
Ensure all reports are being run on the deadline they are due, export the relevant reports into excel sheets, check for quality, errors, missing fields
Help manage user access and maintain data quality across platforms
Support legal teams with training, user guides, and best practices
Ensure legal and compliance data is accurate, complete, and up to date
Ensure all external law firms have uploaded a budget for each matter and that each active matter has the budget section filled (required for invoicing workflows)
Undertake weekly meetings with wider team legal administrators to identify and address any reported system issues.
Requirements:
2 years’ experience in legal finance process (budgeting, financial reporting, spend management, financial data analysis)
Degree in Finance, Business Information Systems, Law or similar areas
English fluency required; additional European language is a plus
Strong interest in legal systems, data accuracy and financial reporting
Good communication skills – you’ll interact with lawyers, vendors and global teams
Team-oriented with a problem-solving mindset
Organized and proactive – able to juggle tasks and meet deadlines
Flexible approach to scope and variety of work and able to work within a pressurized environment
Comfortable using Excel, SAP, and learning new legal tech tools
Experience with legal IT systems (Tracker, HighQ, DMS) is a big plus
Interested in developing the skills to be able to work with legal and compliance specialists and teams.
