Senior Data Engineer (AWS)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role of Data Engineer is fundamental in the delivery of a best-practice business intelligence infrastructure that will contribute to the delivery of high-quality data analytics in line with business priorities. They will be focused on architecting, building, managing and optimizing data pipelines/models and then moving these pipelines/models effectively into production for key data and analytics consumers (including but not limited to MI Analysts and Data Scientists). They will be required to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify the optimal ways in which requirements can be achieved.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain data models and schema designs that support our business needs
• Applies standard data modelling and design techniques based upon a detailed understanding of requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into
• technical solutions.
• Work with product teams to ensure that data pipelines meet their needs.
• Monitor the performance of data pipelines and resolve issues as they arise.
• Ensure that data is accurate, reliable, and available.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data infrastructure and pipelines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Strong experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data integration
• Deep understanding of SQL
• Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
• Databricks or other managed data analytics platform.
• Strong AWS cloud service. Familiar with AWS Glue and AWS Redshift or AWS Aurora
• Experience to build a data warehouse on AWS
• Strong experience with Snowflake, Big Data
• Data modeling, data ingestion, data orchestration.
• Good knowledge of software development practices such as versioning, CI/CD.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in English.
