Principal Test Automation Engineer in
Romania.
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled Principal Test Automation Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts across agile product teams. In this role, you will design and evolve robust test automation frameworks, implement effective testing strategies, and ensure high performance and reliability across software releases. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to uphold QA best practices throughout the development lifecycle and contribute to strategic initiatives that shape the overall test architecture. Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks tailored to project needs
- Lead testing activities across sprints, including reviewing test plans, ensuring execution quality, and defining best practices
- Collaborate with product and development teams to clarify requirements and define testable user stories
- Write and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Appium, and Jenkins
- Drive quality initiatives throughout the SDLC by integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Provide technical mentorship, contribute to recruiting efforts, and help establish a strong quality engineering culture
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 3-8 years of experience in test automation with tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Java, and Cucumber
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, algorithms, data structures, and automation frameworks (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, SpecFlow)
- Hands-on experience in both black-box and white-box testing, with a solid understanding of SQL and scripting
- Familiarity with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and web service/API testing
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Prior experience in Agile/Scrum environments and exposure to performance testing is a plus
