Job Description: IFRS Group Accounting Expert

 

We are looking for a technically skilled and client-focused IFRS Group Accounting Expert to join our Group Accounting Advisory team. In this role, you will support clients in the preparation of IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements, offer guidance on complex accounting issues, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality advisory projects. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in IFRS group accounting and a passion for working in a consulting environment

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare IFRS consolidated financial statements for small- and medium size groups in the healthcare, manufacturing, software and trade sector
  • Prepare IFRS special purpose financial statement (reporting packages) for subsidiaries of multinational groups in the healthcare, manufacturing, software and trade sector
  • Lead or assist with group reporting processes including consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations, and financial disclosures
  • Advise clients on technical IFRS issues, including new standard implementation (e.g. IFRS 15, 16, 9), accounting policy alignment, and complex transactions (e.g. M&A, restructuring, deconsolidation)
  • Prepare technical accounting memos, documentation and reconciliations in line with client and auditor expectations
  • Review financial data submissions from subsidiaries and support in the design of reporting templates and processes
  • Monitor changes to IFRS and assess their impact on group financial reporting and lead implementation of new standards
  • Support external audits, liaising with auditors and preparing relevant documentation

 

Qualifications:

  • Professional qualification in accounting (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent) and degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in accounting
  • At least 3 years experience in IFRS group accounting, in a consolidation or accounting advisory role and proven experience in preparing consolidated financial statements under IFRS
  • Solid understanding of IFRS, including recent developments and their practical application
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with consolidation/reporting tools (e.g. SAP, HFM, LucaNet, Tagetik, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and MS Teams
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity and willingness to learn working with LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and AI agents
  • Comfortable dealing with documents in German language and using translation software
  • Experience working with clients in a professional services environment (e.g. Big 4 or similar advisory/consulting firm) is highly desirable
