Your role

As a Field Engineer within the Mine Planning team in Kiruna, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between mine operations and the planning team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a early-career engineer to gain valuable hands-on experience underground and develop a deep understanding of the entire mining cycle, including sequencing and activity dependencies.

Your responsibilities include:

• Ensuring that plans are clearly communicated to operations.
• Creating a list of activities and priorities for preparation work, ensuring that production areas are adequately prepared in time.
• Assures that coordination for services, rehabilitation, development, and production drilling activities are done in a proper way.
• Identifying and reporting any delays in the above activities to relevant stakeholders.
• Considers that compliance between budget and short-term plans is tracked and reported.

In addition, we are looking for someone with:

• A B.Sc. in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Rock Engineering or Bergteknik.
• Around one to two years of operational experience within the mining industry, which can include internships or equivalent experience.
• A practical understanding of the mining cycle.
• Fluency in both Swedish and English.
• A valid driver’s license (equivalent to Swedish Class B).
• It is a plus if you have previous experience in a planning team, as well as basic knowledge of Deswik.
