Research Fellow (SXY Lab), IMCB

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented fresh PhD graduate to join our Translational Retinal Research lab as an Animal Disease Modelling Specialist. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and characterization of animal models for retinal diseases, with a focus on translational research and therapeutic applications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and characterize animal models for retinal diseases, including but not limited to age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinitis pigmentosa
Conduct in vivo experiments, including eye injections, ophthalmic imaging, and tissue collection
Analyse and interpret data from animal studies, including histological, biochemical, and functional assessments
Collaborate with other lab members to integrate animal model data with other research approaches, such as cell culture, biochemistry, and clinical studies
Contribute to the writing of scientific manuscripts, grant proposals, and reports
Participate in lab meetings, seminars, and conferences to present research findings and stay updated on the latest developments in the field

Job Requirements

PhD in a relevant field, such as biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, or a related discipline
Strong background in animal disease modelling, with experience in designing and conducting in vivo experiments
Expertise in eye injections, ophthalmic imaging, and tissue collection techniques
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience in statistical software package
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
