Scientist, Chemical Biotechnology and Biocatalysis, ISCE2

Design and conduct experiments to optimize the biochemical pathways and/or cellular organism towards production of selected chemicals
Comfortable in the use of advanced technology, including AI/machine learning to design and engineer enzymes
Able to lead independent study
Maintain accurate records, analyze data and present research findings at conferences, meetings, and to internal / external stakeholders
Supervise and mentor junior researchers in the team
Establish collaboration with internal and external partners to develop new, cutting-edge technologies and/or improve existing ones
Devise proposals to seek competitive funding
Write and publish high impact papers in peer-reviewed journals, alongside preparation of technical disclosures, patent applications
Manage projects and resources to meet timelines and deliverables
Represent the institute at industry meetings and events
Other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements:
PhD in in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or Biological Engineering or its equivalent
Strong background chemical / biological / genomic engineering and/or biotechnology
Adaptable to team-oriented goals and requirements
Rigorous data analysis, interpretation, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral/written communication, documentation and organization skills
Meticulous, attention to details and organized
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task
